Getting to Know Jaymee

We’re honoring breast cancer survivors from all over the world as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Lulalu.

Our community of incredible women has so much fight for and so much bravery...we’re honored to support each and every one of you wonderful ladies out there!

Without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to October’s Lulalu Lady -- Jaymee!

Tell us about yourself!

Hi. I'm Jaymee, a Filipina creator, blogger and podcaster based in San Diego, CA. I'm also known as "Jaymee Joaquin", a former TV and movie personality in the Philippines. I'm very active on social media to share my sweet, simple, minimalist life to inspire, uplift and empower people as I survive and thrive through metastatic breast cancer. I'm also currently in the works of writing a breast cancer memoir and developing my own skin care line called WINNER Skin.

How do you connect with Lulalu? What is your favorite thing about the brand as a whole?

When I got a cancer diagnosis, I had to go through hormone therapy which made me transition from cup B to cup A. So hearing about Lulalu, a brand that specializes in AAA, AA and A cup gave me that confidence to still feel beautiful and comfortable even if I'm now A cup. What I love about the brand is it caters to a very specific market of women like myself... petite, with cute boobs and having a hard time finding a good bra that fits. So finally, we found our match! 

What's one challenge you've overcome?

Not just one. But having to deal with breast cancer and its metastases over and over again. I'm a 4x cancer survivor now and I am beyond blessed to have a good medical team who takes care of me. I thank God everyday that I am still very much alive, thriving and WINNING in life!

Any tips or words of wisdom to help other Lulalu Ladies feel inspired or empowered?

As someone who cheated death 4x now, I've truly seen the value and importance of life. So I'd say, treat each moment that you're alive, breathing and fully functioning as a gift. Don't sweat the small stuff anymore. Instead, learn and grow from every experience and encounter. Keep living life by following your own bliss! Take each day as it comes and deal with daily life battles one step at a time, one day at a time. And when things are going sour, remember that everything is temporary. It will get better. And you'll eventually be so proud of yourself for not giving up.
